Neighborhood in west central Brooklyn, bounded to the north by Atlantic Avenue, to the east by Ralph
Avenue, to the south by Empire Boulevard, and to the west by Flatbush Avenue.
The main thoroughfare through Crown Heights is Eastern Parkway, which divides the north and south sides
of this neighborhood. Residents from various religion and ethnic backgrounds coexist together in Crown
Heights. Crown Heights is known for its annual West Indian Carnival. Its main event is the West Indian
Carnival Parade, also known as "The Labor Day Parade." The parade route goes along Eastern Parkway,
from Utica Avenue to Grand Army Plaza.
